These are not random labels. They come from every completed league season, with the number of head-to-head meetings carrying the most weight and close finishes and playoff history breaking the ties.
We counted all head-to-head games from the completed 2023–2025 seasons and followed the current manager even if a roster number changed. Most games played was the primary factor by a wide margin. Championship-bracket meetings, games decided by five or fewer points, games decided by ten or fewer, and average margin supplied the extra context. The final map gives all 12 teams exactly three mutual rivals.
Every rivalry gets a featured rematch: opening week, the middle of the regular season, or the Week 14 finale.
The record tells us how often they met. The story tells us why the next game matters.
Do you love fantasy football so much you want to find more ways to play? Now you can. This year, Sam Hurd Shipping will be hosting our first “Guillotine League.”
Guillotine, or “Chopped,” is a format where every team competes against the full league each week. The lowest-scoring team is eliminated instead of losing a head-to-head matchup, and that team’s entire roster is released to waivers for the surviving Managers. Every week’s waiver wire gets extra juicy.
🪓 Join Sam’s Bricks on SleeperThese leagues usually use 18 teams for a clean one-chop path to the final week. But when have you known Sam Hurd to do anything conventionally? Sam’s Bricks uses 20 paid teams and double chops in Weeks 5 and 6. That puts more money in the prize pool and dumps two full rosters into waivers during each of the league’s most chaotic weeks.
One team is chopped after every week except Weeks 5 and 6, when the two lowest-scoring teams are chopped. That creates 19 eliminations through Week 17 and leaves exactly one champion. Trades are disabled. Sleeper breaks a weekly scoring tie using total season points; in Week 1, when no season-point history exists, the tied team with the better original draft position is chopped.
Sam’s Bricks is a separate companion contest on Sleeper (League ID 1384988942746550272). It does not change the rules, scoring, standings, or prize pool of the primary Sam Hurd Shipping Co. league.
The starting lineup is QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, and 2 FLEX, with six bench spots and two IR spots. There are no D/ST or IDP positions.
